SKEPTOID BLOG:

What is Energy?

Donate Today I am putting out a call for some comments. I am currently teaching my physics classes about energy. The term energy can also be, and is often misused by those peddling various pseudoscientific nonsense. Energy is not an easy term to define. Richard Feynman is famous for having said:
It is important to realize that in physics today, we have no knowledge what energy is. We do not have a picture that energy comes in little blobs of a definite amount."
What I am looking for is comments or stories on where you come across the term "energy." What is your understanding of energy? Do you have examples of where you see the term energy blatantly misused?

If you prefer, you can also contact me on Twitter if you don't want to leave your comment or story below. Thanks in advance for your contributions! You can look for more writing on Energy in a few weeks.
